Cancellation Policy:
Enjoy a gentle ride that’s perfect for beginners and riders of all abilities. This relaxed trek takes you across a calming stream and through wide open tussock river flats, surrounded by breathtaking alpine scenery. Along the way, you’ll take in sweeping views up the Dobson Valley and look back toward the historic Temple Cabins — a truly serene introduction to horse trekking in the Southern Alps.
Duration: 1 hr riding (1.5–2 hours total)
Experience level: no experience required, beginner to experienced
A signature trek taking you along Temple Stream and around the wide river flats to the grand Hopkins Valley entrance. Continue up the Huxley Downs to our alpine tarn for a picture stop, before a smooth ride down to the quarters.
Duration: 2 hrs riding (2.5–3 hrs total)
